SUPREME COURT OF INDIA
As a Judge of the Supreme Court, Justice Nath exercises original, appellate, and advisory jurisdiction. He adjudicates matters of constitutional interpretation, fundamental rights, and disputes between states and the Union.
The Supreme Court serves as the final court of appeal and the guardian of the Constitution of India, with the power of judicial review over legislative and executive actions.
GUJARAT HIGH COURT
As Chief Justice, Justice Nath was responsible for the overall administration of the Gujarat High Court, including the constitution of benches, assignment of cases, and supervision of subordinate courts across the state.
His tenure was marked by the historic decision to implement livestreaming of proceedings — a first that transformed the relationship between the judiciary and the public.
ALLAHABAD HIGH COURT
During his 16-year tenure at the Allahabad High Court, Justice Nath handled a broad spectrum of cases — constitutional writ petitions, civil appeals, criminal appeals, revenue matters, and service law disputes.
The Allahabad High Court, with jurisdiction over India's most populous state, provided a rigorous judicial environment where Justice Nath honed his adjudicatory expertise.
