Among the most renowned of all Bangladeshi Peethas, Jeshoreshwari stands at Ishwaripur in the Shyamnagar upazila of Satkhira. Tradition holds that here fell the palms and soles of Goddess Sati. The current temple is believed to date to a Pratapaditya-era reconstruction in the late sixteenth century, with the deity worshipped in a fierce Kali aspect. The temple endures as one of the foremost active Shakti Peethas in South Asia.বাংলাদেশের সকল পীঠের মধ্যে অন্যতম খ্যাত যশোরেশ্বরী, যা সাতক্ষীরার শ্যামনগর উপজেলার ঈশ্বরীপুরে অবস্থিত। পরম্পরা অনুসারে, এখানেই দেবী সতীর করতল ও পদতল পতিত হয়েছিল। বর্তমান মন্দিরটি ষোড়শ শতকের শেষভাগে প্রতাপাদিত্য-যুগের পুনর্নির্মাণের মনে করা হয়; দেবী এখানে উগ্র কালীরূপে পূজিতা হন। মন্দিরটি দক্ষিণ এশিয়ার অন্যতম প্রধান সক্রিয় শক্তিপীঠ হিসাবে আজও বিদ্যমান।

By the gentle Sondha river at Shikarpur near Barisal stands Sugandha — among the most sacred of the Bengali Peethas, where the nose of Goddess Sati is venerated. The very name Sugandha ("the fragrant one") recalls the divine perfume said to mark her presence. The temple has stood through centuries of devotional continuity and is associated with annual fairs that draw pilgrims from across South Asia.বরিশালের নিকটে শিকারপুরে কোমল সন্ধ্যা নদীর তীরে অবস্থিত সুগন্ধা — বঙ্গীয় পীঠসমূহের মধ্যে অন্যতম পবিত্র, যেখানে দেবী সতীর নাসিকা পূজিতা হন। সুগন্ধা ("সুরভিতা") নামটিই সেই দিব্য সৌরভের স্মারক, যা তাঁর উপস্থিতি চিহ্নিত করে বলে কথিত। মন্দিরটি শতাব্দী-প্রসারী ভক্তিমূলক ধারাবাহিকতার সাক্ষী।

At Bhabanipur in Sherpur stands the seat of Goddess Aparna — a name born of austere devotion, denoting the Devi who attained Shiva through penance so severe that she ceased to consume even the falling leaves. Locally known also as Bodeshwari, this Peeth is among the oldest active Devi temples in northern Bangladesh and is closely linked to the broader Bengali Shakta tradition.শেরপুরের ভবানীপুরে অবস্থিত দেবী অপর্ণার আসন — এই নামের জন্ম কঠোর তপস্যা থেকে; সেই দেবী যিনি শিবকে এমন কঠিন তপস্যায় লাভ করেছিলেন যে পতিত পত্রও আহার করতেন না। স্থানীয়ভাবে বদেশ্বরী নামেও পরিচিত, পীঠটি উত্তর বাংলাদেশের প্রাচীনতম সক্রিয় দেবী মন্দিরসমূহের অন্যতম।

By the ancient bed of the Karatoya at Banbhag in Bogura, this watery shrine known also as Kumarikunda is associated in tantric tradition with the left anklet of the Goddess. The kunda itself is held to be self-revealed; pilgrims circumambulate its stone embankments and offer flowers to the still surface where the sky doubles into water. Magh Purnima draws thousands.বগুড়ার বনভাগে করতোয়ার প্রাচীন তটে অবস্থিত এই জলশায়ী মন্দির কুমারীকুণ্ড নামেও পরিচিত, যা তান্ত্রিক পরম্পরায় দেবীর বাম পদনূপুরের সঙ্গে যুক্ত। কুণ্ডটি স্বয়ম্ভু বলে কথিত; তীর্থযাত্রীরা এর প্রস্তর-বাঁধ পরিক্রমা করেন এবং স্থির জলপৃষ্ঠে পুষ্প নিবেদন করেন। মাঘ পূর্ণিমায় সহস্র ভক্তের সমাগম।

Crowning the Chandranath hill in Sitakunda overlooking the Bay of Bengal, this ancient sanctum is a luminous confluence of Shaiva and Shakta traditions. By tradition the right arm of Sati is venerated here, and the climb of more than a thousand stone steps is itself an act of devotion. The site is also a locus of the Shiva-Chaturdashi Mela that draws hundreds of thousands of pilgrims annually.বঙ্গোপসাগরের প্রতি দৃষ্টিনিবদ্ধ সীতাকুণ্ডের চন্দ্রনাথ পাহাড়ের শীর্ষে অবস্থিত এই প্রাচীন গর্ভগৃহ শৈব ও শাক্ত পরম্পরার এক উজ্জ্বল সঙ্গম। পরম্পরা অনুসারে এখানে সতীর দক্ষিণ বাহু পূজিতা হয়; এক হাজারেরও অধিক প্রস্তর সোপান অতিক্রম স্বয়ংই এক ভক্তি-ক্রিয়া। স্থানটি প্রতিবছর লক্ষ-লক্ষ তীর্থযাত্রী আকর্ষণকারী শিব-চতুর্দশী মেলার কেন্দ্রবিন্দুও বটে।

In the misty borderlands of Sylhet, the Jayanti Peeth is venerated as the place where the left thigh of Goddess Sati is believed to have descended. The Chattal site at Chattogram preserves an older line of the Bhairabi tradition associated with the neck (griba) of the Devi. Worship here predates the modern city itself, making the sanctum one of the oldest Hindu sites of the eastern coast.
